Privacy policy

Neighborbook is for sharing trusted local service recommendations within the communities you actually belong to. Your data is visible only to the smallest audience needed for its purpose — and never to the public.

What we collect

  • Your email address, used only to sign you in. It is never shown to other members.
  • The display name you choose (and an optional profile photo), shown to members of your communities.
  • An optional phone number, visible to co-members only if you explicitly opt in.
  • Providers, recommendations, and requests you share with a community.
  • Optional private household records, reminders, prices, and receipts — these are yours alone.

Who can see what

  • Everything you share is scoped to the community you shared it in. Other communities never see it.
  • Your phone number stays hidden unless you choose to make it visible to your community.
  • Private prices you record are visible only to you.
  • Household history, notes, and documents are visible only to you — not even to community administrators.
  • There are no public profiles, public ratings, or public search results.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
  • We never make your activity visible outside your communities.
  • Our analytics record only coarse usage events — never recommendation text, contact details, prices, or household data — and raw analytics are automatically deleted after a bounded period.

How long we keep data

Community content is kept while you remain a member. Raw usage analytics are deleted after 90 days and diagnostic logs after 30 days. You can ask for your account and data to be deleted at any time — see how to request data deletion.
